The dates have been set for the fifth annual Adventure on the Queen Mary! November 16-17th, 2007. So mark your calendars for the best event of the year. There have been some amazing improvements that will take this years event to a whole new level. To get a feel for last year's events, check out this video.

FRIDAY Nov 16:

2:00pm
Rendezvous in the beautiful Observation Bar to meet and greet over pre-dinner drinks. The best part about the QM event is socializing with like minded people. The O.B. is a great place to show and tell over a martini.

6:00pm-8:00pm
Casual Dinner at the Promenade Cafe amidship. We will be taking over the lion share of the restaurant for a fun and casual dinner. We will be ordering off their regular menu and not a pre-set group menu. You can order as much or as little as you wish. A Promenade Cafe menu is available here. RSVP required so that we can plan the seating.

A formal dinner at the ships exclusive Verandah Grill. Unlike the other restaurants on the ship, this special room is original from when the Queen Mary was in service. Overlooking the stern of the ship, the Verandah Grill was an exclusive a la carte restaurant where the elite passengers dined for an extra price. Reservations were required sometimes months in advance of a sailing ....unless you were Errol Flynn or Greta Garbo. It's beautiful hand-painted murals and sunken dance floor are the perfect setting for our formal dinner. We will have our own private cash bar for the evening, so have a drink, dance to the music
, then out on the Sun Deck for a cigar.

Dress code for gentlemen:suits or tuxedos. Ladies: evening gowns or evening dress. Price for Saturday night is $80 at the door. Admission includes dinner, live music and dancing. Only those paying will be allowed to enter. See you there!

Of course we will have whip cracking with the Indy fans and the famous MK tour of the ship, but other activities are still being scheduled.

If there are other activities that you wish to suggest please do so. Just keep in mind that it is best to contain your ideas to things that can be done on the ship. It is wearisome arranging transportation for a large group. It also takes much longer to get anything done with this number of people. We have found that the best thing about the event is just us being together. Show and tell over a few cold ones can be an event all by itself and can keep people entertained for hours.

Accommodations:

Book a cabin to get the most out of your Queen Mary event and stay the weekend. You will be sleeping where royalty and movie stars slept. Only the rich and famous could afford the first class cabins.

I have negotiated a special price for the cabins. You have a choice of 1st Class staterooms which are more traditional or Deluxe staterooms, which have modern conveniences like a mini refrigerator and hair dryers for $139. Other than that the decor is the same.

You should try and book way in advance so that you can get a good cabin. Ask for one on the starboard side of the ship .....otherwise you will be looking at the parking lot.

To get the special price tell them you are booking for The Fedora Lounge Queen Mary Event. Notice that the word summit is not in there. I have instructed them to charge $10 more for those asking for a "summit"....just kidding.
