It was like going back in time to the old town Turkish Baths in Newcastle Upon Tyne (in England, UK). They were built in 1920 for well-to-do businessmen and are furnished with antique shaving mirrors, polished mahogany walls and cubicles, with beds to chill out in.

Even the old gas lights are still there, albeit converted to electric.

There is a beautiful stain glass domed window in the ceiling, to allow the light to stream through.

I had a full body massage on the original marble slab, then into the 3 hot dry rooms and the steam room (wet one). All the hot air comes through 1920 grills. It's like travelling back in time. You then chill out on old steamer chairs (from the vintage days of liners).

I just bet that most of you guys would love it there, as it is an experience to be remembered!

I shared the whole place with max of 7 people at any one time, as it is a little secret these days!

They did a Titanic last dinner at a local restaurant a few years back. A friend of mine went dressed in tails, complete with top hat and cane, on top of which he wore a prop life jacket that had been used in the movie TITANIC.

We did a Turkish Bath in Istanbull last week. I completely understand what you mean about traveling back in time. Do you remember the address of the one you attened? We are planing on traveling to England in 2013 and it would be intresting to see how it stands up.
