Okay Loungers, what is your biggest vice? Here's mine:

Oh wait a minute, that's a vise, not a vice. Oops, sorry! lol
I guess if a warped sense of humour is a vice, that's mine. However, I've heard other "vices" than smoke, drink or gambling put forth, such as chocolate. If that can be considered a vice, then I can honestly say chocolate (especially dark chocolate) is my biggest vice.

Kilroy, My Dear
Are the items in those boxes pre or post vise?
Chocolate or otherwise?
Though the contents may vary,
It's all rather scary,
To contemplate the contents,
And their creator's intent.
"A Warden", says he, "is all that I am."
I supect, however, that it's all a sham.
Further inquiry, I'm certain,
Could bring down the curtain.
For there's a Lady named Sam,
Whose proportions are glam,
Whose chums are all bent,
Not at all heaven-sent,
She lures the unwary,
Each Tom, Dick, And Harry.
And so I surmise,
Reenacting's a guise.
Oh, it seems sedentary,
And sometimes quite merry,
All vintage merriment,
Enticing each lady and gent,
With perambulator and pram,
Each character another "I am".
Some sleep in coaches, others in tents,
Each supposing their time well-spent,
But those who are wary,
Keep watch, and are chary.
Leading he who pries,
To an untimely demise.

Probably attempting to flirt when I don't have the means to back it up (although if I did I certainly would) is #2...

It may sound like a silly vice, but since I don't smoke and almost never drink anymore, my vice has become shoes. When someone dies, I buy shoes. When I have a bad day, I buy shoes. When I'm happy and celebrating, I buy shoes. When I go on a trip and want a souvenir, I buy shoes. Some might argue that a shoe habit isn't a vice, but I think my "shoe tower" and the boxes stacked up anyplace I can find might change their minds. Please no Imelda Marcos jokes!

It's fried foods for me too!
Why is it that the best tasting foods are always the worst for your health?
Being a 56 year old male, I try to minimize my intake of fried food. But when I do give in to fried fish, onion rings or potato chips they just taste *so* good!
Come to think of it, potato chips are my *biggest* vice...always have been. I give in to those far too often (hope my physician isn't a member here).

Coffee for me, too, but I don't consider that a vice.
Fried food: call me prissy, but I have to immediately wash my face and hands after touching or eating them. So I never eat them. I hate gross stuff on my skin. I can barely wear glasses -- I cannot tolerate something hooked behind my ears and sitting on the bridge of my nose. So this weakness has caused me to avoid fried foods, and I suppose I should be thankful for it.

Well, having an uncontrollable urge is one thing, but actually doing it is another. Since I haven't heard a news report of anyone getting hurt (or worse  ) diving into a vat of wet Mercury dimes (and you know that would be the outcome), I'm certain you haven't attempted it yet. (feeling more than slightly woozy from yet another late reading night)
I have a tendency to get into a book and not come out till it's over. An antisocial and sometimes problematic thing, but I love it. I would rather read a good book than watch a movie any day.
Especially if it's set in the 30s and has good descriptions!

Right now I'd have to say my biggest vice is recreational wine shopping. I didn't drink wine at all a few years ago, so now I feel I need to educate myself, which is proving expensive! I shop wine like other women shop for clothes - whenever I have a sec and some cash burning a hole in my pocket. A bottle here, a bottle there...I never buy a more than I can carry at least!
and yet, there is still no wine in the house for long!

Biggest vice...
Shopping. I am the world's worst person to take shopping. Like the shoes? Buy the shoes. In fact get two pairs... just in case you damage a pair... Like the dress? Cool. Get it... you don't want to because you yoyo in size, get your top size and bottom size in the style... you don't want to slim out of it now, do you?
I'm banned from lingerie shopping since I got married... the 'fashion show' being, shall we say, a temptation too far to place in the way of any man... who is, as any woman will tell you, a weak and silly creature... it was also the thing that attracted the present Mrs Quinn to me... I wasn't only interested... I had taste, too!:D

I used to down 4-5 diet pepsi's at work, starting as soon as I got there at 6:00am and ending when I left at 4:00pm., but I no longer drink that much and I never missed it. Luckily I'm not an addictive personality, I've controlled my pain meds (lortab) so that I'm not addicted, and I can't say my pipe smoking is a vice, only smoke one to two bowls every 3 to 6 months. I have plenty of vices, but my least favorite is my over-indulgence of food. I think at least half of my food intake is just sort of mindless passing of time. It's really pretty useless as vices go: not all that interesting, it doesn't lend itself to entertaining anecdotes, and I don't even have that many fascinating memories of the times I've overeaten.
Now alcohol... That's a respectible vice to have.

Vices?
1. Cigars. I get a lot of guff about this in my home town. I live in a college town with a lot of "progressives" (I call them hippies) who have the habit of sticking their noses in other people's business. Giving me the stink eye because I'm smoking a cigar on a bench in a public park (away from the play area) while reading a book is a good way to catch a smack. Mind your own business. Hey, there are lot of social justice issues I think are absolutely critical so don't take this as a condemnation of liberals.
2. Sneakers. Specifically Converse All Stars. I collect them and have several dozen.
3. Sonic. I'm so addicted to their ability to add flavors to their fountain drinks. It's close to my house so I always seem to end my work day with a vanilla Coke.
4. Colonel Seasons (http://www.kernelseasons.com/) popcorn flovorings. I've been a fan of these since one of the theaters near my house started having these available for their popcorn.

Being from the South, mine would be Sweet Tea. Bad thing is that I am a diabetic and should not drink it. I still do on occasion. Nothing like a good ice cold glass of sweet tea. I was up north in Gettysburg, PA for a civil war event and stopped in a resturant. They told me they had sweet tea and then brought me a bottle of what they called sweet tea. It almost started the war all over again. LOL

Cheap glass and china at auctions. If the auctioner goes down to $1 or $2, and s/he can't get a bid, I suddenly own another box of mis-matched stuff. Especially if it is Anchor Hocking or Syracuse China.
If you don't think it's a vice, you haven't seen my house. ;)

Any kind of salami. Genoa, Tuscan, Hungarian, dry, hard, you name it. I can take down 1/2 pound of it just standing in the kitchen staring at the electric clock and OM NOM NOM NOM...then later...urggg.

I can relate, being raised on the Genoa label. It got to the point that when I was a teen, my mother blamed my supposed lack of memory on the nitrate contained in said food, and banished it from the house for quite a while...Not a pleasant part of my life. lol
