Glad to see this subforum recast as such.

Tobacco - the Partagas Series D No. 4. This cigar is not available in the US. It is very much my favorite cigar. For domestic smoking I prefer the Padron 1964 Anniversary in natural. This is a Nicaraguan cigar, though some are actually rolled in Honduras from Nicaraguan tobacco.

Spirits - I prefer my martinis with potato vodka. Currently Chopin vodka is at the top of my list.

Gambling - I am an avid poker player. I play the casinos in Louisiana, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. I must say I do consider Los Angeles the poker capital of the world. My favorite card room in Los Angeles is the Commerce Casino. What's nice about the Los Angeles card rooms is that you can still find 7-card stud games there. I have also played at the Golden West casino in Bakersfield. This is a seedy card room but the winnings are easy, and the security is good.

My old standby for booze; jack and coke, or Johnny Walker Red.

I stay away from the local card rooms here in California because I know I'll get hooked too easily. If I know it's 3-4 hour drive to Reno or Tahoe or a flight out to Ls Vegas I won't be to anxious to gamble. Just call me superstitious.:D

I haven't played Poker since high school. It was a lot of fun.

As to table games I like to get in some craps at the Gold Coast in Las Vegas, where the limits are low. ($5) and Laughlin where you can find $2 tables.

Just remember: "If there is no action, nothing can happen."
