I went to a concert last night at a small bar/club and wore my Art pork pie. I got several compliments. This one doll in particular kept dancing with me and commenting on my hat. She even asked me to give it to her!

She asked where I got it, so I gave her the "Like Hell it's Yours" card from the band so that she now has Art's website.

I can't even begin to enumerate the number of women who complement me on my dress and my fedora. An interesting observation is that people in general will not openly comment of shabby dressers but will go out of their way to complement the well dressed.

I envision an entire cadre of women secretly detesting poorly dressed men. They openly comment and complement well dressed men IN THE PRESENCE of their often shabbily dressed escorts. I see it as a "not so subtle" hint that men either are too thick to understand or quite frankly don't care enough to do anything about.

I've had younger women fawn over my fedora to a point where I'm actually somewhat embarrassed. I often justify the activity to our age differences, I am 58 and the younger women (young enough to be a daughter) may see me as harmless and therefore give themselves open license to flirt with me....

.... it is a pity that youth is wasted on the young!

One day in Seattle, that's all it took. Walked about a mile from my B&B into the centre of town. Spent a few hours 'in town' and I had folk coming up to me at pedestrian crossings as I waited to cross the road, cars slow down and roll the window down and just passers by saying...'NICE HAT' I counted about 20 times that this happened and just could not believe it:eek:

I've heard this happen to others in here and just thought...'must be exaggerating!!' I know, Mister Cynical:rolleyes:

Then the IMPOSSIBLE happened to ME:eek: This just NEVER happens to little ol' moi, so I can tell you, it gives you a real natual BUZZ at the time:eusa_clap

Just wait..it could be YOU NEXT;)

I need to ask Art for some extra cards when I get my next hat. I keep giving them away!

Did you remember to put *your* phone number on the card?

If it weren't for the wife, I would have been sure to do that :p :D

She even asked me to give it to her!

You sure she wasn't like... twelve years old? I haven't had anyone ask me to give them one of my possessions since high school. Very strange.

Good thing you had the cards.

It was a 21+ show at a bar, so I hope she wasn't 12lol

She was just being a flirt and probably a bit tipsy.
