I picked up this Dobbs Golden Coach from ebay for $56.50 shipped. I see no signs of wear and it is in it's original box.

It's a decent enough lid and it looks OK but I think I need more brim?

Need a shave too...

You could easily wear a wider brim, TS, but I don't see a thing wrong with that one. It looks good on you.

That hat looks good on you, Mr. Smith, and you generally don't need more brim than that for evening wear dress hats.

Dobbs' Golden Coach quality felt... nice choice!

Nice hat. It looks good on you. In my opinion many guys wear a hat with too wide of a brim or a crown that is too tall or too short, just because it is a "fedora." I like Dobbs because they are the only ones I have found that are proportioned to fit my face and body. Got several others, including a nice dove Royal Stetson that is close, but not quite. Pity. Beautiful hat. My theory is, if you would not feel comfortable shooting a chunk gun in it, it ain't right.

Premade hats are just like off-the-rack suits used to be when there were tons of suit makers. Find the one that is cut to fit your shape, then just buy the heck out of them. Guy next door wears something else? Good for him. He found the one that fits HIM.

I agree with Bob. You could definitely go with a bigger brim but it depends on what style and width you are comfortable with. You look fine in that one. I like 'em wide but its my personal preference based on the westerns I always wore before I "converted".
