I have aquired several new hats in the last couple of weeks and have to make some room!
Beaver Hats 7 3/8 - I picked this one up right before my chocolate whippet so I am now passing it on. It has the original pricetag on it for $3.98 Selling for $80 plus shipping ($8 CONUS)
The felt is very nice. It has a couple of very small rough spots that I can only see under very bright light. Although the sweatband looks pristine it's brittle. I'm afraid to fold it open because I feel like it will crack. Other than that - this is a very cool hat.

Do you think putting something on the sweatband would bring it back to life?
This is a very nice looking hat and I am so very tempted, even though I have browns and grey hats too many. The price actually is more a steal for the buyer than anything! Let me know what you think about the sweatband and if this new person does not buy this hat, or have something in the mix.

Thanks!

I'm really not sure - I think it would be a tedious task to try to get lexol or mink oil on the back side of the sweatband without breaking it. I don't think just putting it on the finished side of the sweatband would do that much for it.

Humm...it must have dried out fairly much to be that way. I will have to check and find out what it would run to have it replaced (approximate cost) but I am still interested as that hat really is a very sharp looking hat and would be a steal for anyone to buy it. Seems you always have some of the better looking hats up for grabs! I will get back to you later, thank you so very much!

I am "bumpin" and still have some interest in this hat, waiting to get an email back for an estimate to repair the hat's sweatband. I was at my local shoe repair place today, no he does not work on hats, but is a expert regarding leather. He advised me to look into being safe and just replacing anything on a nice hat worth keeping. So, I sent an email to a place to see what they have to say about taking the old band out, putting a new one in and helping shape the hat a bit more to fit me, I am 7 3/8's but a bit more and more towards long oval.

Replacing that sweat is my only hurdle, if I could sew well enough, I would have already pay pal'd this hat, it is one very nice looking hat. I am still desiring this hat....badly.
