Pub grub pot luck tonite along with the Cubs vs Nationals final game. Last nite the Nats pitched heat and changeups to die for,
and Chicago's best closer threw a grand slam curve to end the misery. One more chance to prove the curse is really gone.:)

Sardine slam: King Oscar brislings in water; drain can, squeeze in mustard, Ritz crackers, French bread, an unopened bottle of Domestica.
May add macaroni covered with Campbell's cream of chicken, but not feeling that ambitious...Cubs are up against the Dodgers tonite,
and have so far proven incapable of hitting Dodger pitching.:(

Over at the coast (Mendocino) Friday to Monday to escape the smoke that has come our way from the unfortunate many. Clam Chowder, B.L.A.T.s ( BACON, lettuce, avacado, and tomato) plus garlic fries and Guinness on tap, and more clam chowder the past few nights. I was very happy and full.

That's how one weathers a storm; fire or otherwise.

Steak sounds good tonite. Cubs are likely to be swept away by the Dodgers but the team is clearly fatigued. A good showing this season, all things considered.:)

Not quite a shutout yet. I'm too old for October Optimism and feeding unrealistic expectations of a comeback.. but coming off of a World Series win, I think that you're right. It's been a surprisingly good year no matter what happens.

Baez certainly showed that miracles do happen-even to wild swinging bouncing ankle high dirt ball guys who have been less stellar at the plate; hoping beyond hope.:)
Off Topic:...last Thursday nite while watching the Cubs-Nationals knock down amidst a law crowd at my favorite watering hole, I was introduced
to the most beautiful sitting judge in Chicago, veritas, veritas.;)
