Overdressing is such a dumb word. I would rather wear look handsome wearing a suit, hat, and overcoat than be fashionable wearing an "OCBD", loafers, and chinos.

I wish people would go to the trouble of wearing an OCBD, loafers and chinos. I'm Always amazed to see people out and about in clothing I would wear when working on my car or in the garden. Here in The Netherlands an OCBD with chinos and loafers would easily propel you into the top 5% of best dressed men.

I agree.

However, I was making fun of the people on Ask Andy, Style Forum, and Male Fashion Advice.

Douglas Fairbanks Jr. a classic name in the Fedora Lounge......:D

with Joan 1930s

in the 1920s

Super styling in the first pick: The angle of the hat, the snap of the brim plus the full-on pinstripe of the double-breasted suit - damn - and, hard to tell from the pick, but, possibly, those are suede wingtips. That outfit didn't just happen by chance. Her incredible outfit wasn't happenstance either.

Second pick - somehow the rumpled drape looks elegant on him (on me it would just look rumpled :( - it pays to be Douglas Fairbanks Jr.).

Third pick - great tab collar
