George I. Eakle began in 1910, and from what little info I could find, closed in the 1980s.

Located at 1534 Market St. Philadelphia, but they look to have moved to 1628 Market St. at some time in the businesses lifetime.

This thread is for all things releated to Eakle!

--------

I'll start with this 1910s Long Hair "Genuine Beaver " The liner is iridescent and color shifts from green to purple.

Hey Justin:
Great new thread!!
This hat deserves it’s own thread.
I wish i had some Eakle to contribute but it’s a new one on me.
I hope others out there are more fortunate and can share such an interesting old hat maker.
Such a stellar example to start off with. That iridesent liner would make a pheasant go cry on a turkey’s shoulder.
Beautiful!!!
Be well. Bowen

So Eakle was a seller only, or did they manufacture as well? I guess i’m confused. That first one appears to be “an Eakle” hat as far as branding. Or maybe they were both??
I can be slow at times!! Not Ha!
