    Akubra Overload

It is not that unusual. All of our schools have a "sun smart" policy. During our summer months children must wear a hat when playing outdoors. Many schools have Akubra as part of the school uniform. But I suspect they order from Akubra Corporate Direct rather than a retail stockist

Ask a question, get an answer

I should probably post this in "How do folks react to your hat wearing" - but the most common reaction I get from people I work with is "how many hats do you own?". I usually answer "too many, according to my wife - not enough, according to me"

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

I was inside a shopping centre (aka shopping mall) wearing an Akubra Campdraft. Young Shop Assistant: I like your hat Me: thank you Shop Assistant: can I ask you something? Me: sure Shop Assistant: why are you wearing a hat inside? Me: to keep the sun out of my eyes Shop Assistant: [looking up]...

    I love the Fed IV!!

No not difficult or burdensome to do once you know how. There are some great resources here to help those attempting to crease their first hat too.

    I love the Fed IV!!

This is true. But my point is that symmetry isn’t the only option. Some people seem obsessed to achieve symmetry or what they perceive to be perfection when creasing a hat. To my eyes there is no character in a neat, symmetrical, factory type crease. In my opinion if you want a factory fresh...

    Akubra Overload

I have a Cattleman that is my beater. It is the hat I wear when on a boat etc so it often gets wet (felt and leather sweat) and therefore sometimes shrinks a little (which I later correct with a stretcher). As the leather was shrinking I felt the wire was getting uncomfortable so I just pulled...

    HUFVUD HATMAKER | Lund, Sweden

[repost from What Hat Are You Wearing Today] I recently ordered a custom hat from Hufvud in Sweden. Mikael was a pleasure to deal with and the hat was exactly what I was expecting. The felt has a great feel and the colour and quality of finish are exactly what Mikael had explained to me. It's...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I recently ordered a custom hat from Hufvud in Sweden. Mikael was a pleasure to deal with and the hat was exactly what I was expecting. The felt has a great feel and the colour and quality of finish are exactly what Mikael had explained to me. It's always a risk ordering a custom hat from...

If there is a solid knot at the stitching you should be fine to trim the excess line/thread. If in doubt go back to your local hat shop (or a local tailor/seamstress) and ask them to do it for you.

All You Need to Know About Hat Etiquette

Being an Aussie, she's still officially our Queen. She recently wrote a lovely letter to my Grandmother to celebrate my gran's 100th birthday.

    Admittedly, I'm in Australia...but I'm quite confident it wasn't JFK's fault
