The whole collar looks like it's made up of straight lines at the moment, because it's still new and unbroken-in. To me, that's why there's a gap. The collar's square and your neck is probably round. As it breaks in that will soften and likely disappear. Wear it and enjoy it.

They must really want to not sell those jackets!

It looks too long and too narrow to my eyes. But it doesn't matter what I think, or anyone else. Do you feel comfortable in it? Do you feel better when you wear it? If you have misgivings now, they probably won't go away.
