Good lordy! Another Sharps followed me home from work today. This one is a Taylor & Co. 1863 Sharps Saddle Ring Carbine in .54 cal.

Yeah, two of my dogs photo-bombed me. One is a Cocker, the other a Springer. In the second pic, the 1874 (top) was laying at a wonky angle so it doesn't look right. Here's a better shot of the 1874.

My latest addition, a replica 1863 Sharps Sporting Rifle with vintage-style 4x scope. Now here it is with the rest of my Sharps "family". However, one of those is not as it seems...

Deacon, this won't be my first firearms themed piece of furniture. Not quite a year and a half ago I posted about my new floor lamp: Show us your Guns!

Here's something I picked up in September during a visit to International Military Antiques (IMA). I was on a bit of a tight budget so I had to put my first choice aside for another visit - a Brunswick rifle . So I went there to look over the P1853 parts guns to see if there were any...

I don't know, Deacon. I haven't fired it yet. I suspect they should be similar, as the weights are close. But the Mauser's bore axis is lower, so the Rolling Block might have a different feel to it.

My latest, a Model 1902 Remington Rolling Block in 7x57mm (7mm Mauser).

Here's one of my latest, and it's one that I haven't seen all that many of. It's an H&R 155 Shikari in .45-70 with a 28" barrel and a Creedmoor tang sight.

Here's one of my recent additions. Got it at a local auction where it was described as an Enfield 1876 Martini Henry, but it's not quite as it seems. It's actually an Afghan-made Martini (and not a Kabul Arsenal Martini) that had its original markings scrubbed and spurious British markings...

Much appreciated. I'm working at a gun show this weekend, so I'll be looking there as well.

Here's one that followed me home from the shop recently. It's a 1916 Smith & Wesson .455 Hand Ejector Second Model that had been altered to shoot .45ACP using half-moon clips. At some point in its life it also had target sights and grips installed. I'm looking for a set of original grips, but...

Here it is now, after conversion to a "Long Range" version with the addition of a Creedmore tang sight and a globe front sight.

I'm not aware of anyone reproducing any British single shot rifles, but Pedersoli makes a nice double, very reminiscent of the Express rifles: http://www.davide-pedersoli.com/tipologia-prodotti.asp/l_en/idt_61/rifles-kodiak-mark-iv.html

My latest addition This is one I've wanted for a long time, and I just got it on Friday. It's a Taylor & Co. Model 1874 Sharps Sporting Rifle in .45-70. I'll be ordering a tang sight and front globe sight for it shortly.
