FS: Size 7 5/8 LO OR Style Vintage Wright Mirakal Western Fedora $85 shipped

This is a rare brand in a rare size in a popular style.

I picked this up a few weeks ago and I've decided to pass it on. The main reasons I'm not keeping it are that I have too many SB OR style hats and this has a smaller brim than I like for this style of hat. I've recreased it dry from a cattleman crease to a fedora pinch but didn't steam or wet it so it should pop back to a cattlemans crease and leave little sign of the fedora crease.

Condition: The hat is a bit dirty (I've brushed it but there is some deeply set in dirt/stains) and could use a cleaning or could be used as is with its "character". The sweatband is brittle and has some cracks. I've treated it with a bit of shea butter and some lexol. Even after treating it's still a bit brittle so it probably needs some more care.

I don't have the hat in front of me for measurements right now but I would guess that the brim is approximately 2.5"-2 5/8" as it's significantly smaller than an Akubra Campdraft. I'll post measurements later.

That would be a good candidate for a makeover by a pro, maybe even reblock it to a 7 1/2 or 7 3/8, thereby gaining some more brim width.

That's something I would consider doing if I didn't already have a half dozen silverbelly OR style hats If anyone is interested in having this done I can ship directly to any of the hat maker/restorers for you.

Measurements:
Brim 2 3/8" front and back, slightly less than 2 1/2" on the sides (between 2 7/16 and 2 1/2).

Crown at highest point when open: 5 3/4"

I noticed some light mothing on the underside of the brim when measuring. You can see this in the photos. This only on the underside and is not visible when wearing the hat.

Due to the mothing I'll go ahead and drop the price to $75 shipped.

I'll take it. It will be perfect for my brother in West Texas. It looks just like our dad's old cow-slapper.
