I prefer the look of the diamond pull type but they don't look as durable as the ball type. Anyone have a bad experience with the diamond pulls breaking?

I've had both types break on me but fortunately it's rare (and I tend to use my stuff hard). I understand your concern about the diamond pull, looks flimsy, right? But I can't say they're better or worse than the ball pull type so pick whichever you like best is my advice.

Are these for the chest pocket or all around?
I like the diamond for simple jacket designs. Haven't ever had one though. So I can't speak to durability.

I can't speak to first hand knowledge of both as I only have the Talon ball zips. For my cafe racer, Carrie at Thurston/Insurrection recommended the ball as more durable than the diamond.

I would think that the main zip and handwarmer zips could be square if you went with a diamond chest pocket zip
