Wow..that certainly is a 'statement' tie and in the right way as well!
A few more sedate numbers from me all picked up for a couple of quid each. late 40's tootal special quality which is really nice, a 40's Irish Poplin that has some nasty damage but luckily its right where I knot it. The slim black quality
tootal looks for all the world to be 60's but is rayon which seems to jar a little, perhaps it's 50's?

Say, thanks guys! The 40s tootal is my personal favourite. The poplin although a very expensive tie in it's day (as they are now!) is, for me, just not a great fabric. I don't know why but it just feels 'wrong'. Weird!

Sorry, I know this is from centuries ago, I haven't been as active in this thread as I could have.
No fabric label! I guess it is either polyester or a wool/polyester blend. Somehow I doubt it is 100% wool
I am in Cyprus at the moment, and I really didn't expect to find wool ties here, but nevertheless, after a trip to a couple of second hand shops:
One is Lochcarron, and the other is by Belvedere (made in Austria). The Belvedere is unlined.
