Tape. A really great movie all around. Unique camera work and cinematography, interesting characters, good dialogue, funny at some bits, really dramatic at others. Probably the most shoe string budgeted feature length film I've ever seen. It's so good, you forget that the movie is done all in one motel room, with only 3 actors.

Last good movie I saw was "Mr. Holmes". You don't have to be a card carrying Sherlockian to follow the plot & enjoy the movie.

Strangely enough... I found this tale, despite the stellar cast, boring as all get out. I wasn't looking for Holmes the cartoon character a la Morton Downey BUT I found neither the tail nor its telling engaging. I never bought in for some odd reason. I had read the book published about 2005 that this story is based on.
I listen all the time to the podcasts on http://www.ihearofsherlock.com
I was ready for something like this rather than just another sequel to something else. We normally don't see but maybe a couple of movies per yr for that vary reason. Movies nowadays are made for the younger date crowd who will go & pay to watch anything regardless. I try & support the better movies of the genres I normally like.

"Mrs. Miniver" Don't care how many times I've seen it, the Dunkirk scene moves me. Kind of like the La Marseillaise scene in "Casablanca," don't care if I'm being manipulated, I'm ready to grab a gun and go fight for England or France.

It seems AMC has been running a Godfather marathon all day. While we were at home my wife and I watched the last 20-30 minutes of The Godfather, all of The Godfather, Part II (though not in the same sitting), and right now we're watching The Godfather, Part III. Agreed, it stays in the formula but the dialogue and acting lift it above the ordinary. It's borderline "stop and drop" for me - I can resist if I have to, but it is hard.

Yeah, Part III isn't quite as good as the first two, but there's a whole lot worse on TV right now.
Got sucked into a chunk of GFII - it is just that good a movie. I even said when I saw it was on, "I'm not going to watch this," and watched well over an hour of it until I had to go.

Cary Grant movies on TCM most of the morning and afternoon. I'm watching Mr. Blandings Builds His Dreamhouse right now. Perfect way to spend Black Frida - i.e. not in a shopping mall!

Just finished "Desk Set," a lighthearted Hepburn-Tracy movie that is very enjoyable as the chemistry between the two sparkle and it is nice to see a romantic movie with two genuinely middle aged actors (and not just a middle aged man and young woman). Also, the Hepburn character reminds me a bit of our formidable Lizzie.
P.S. It also has a very light-touch Christmas theme - a wonderful way to break into the Christmas-movie season with full-on Christmas-ness.

Strangely, on Thanksgiving, they were. Later, I watched part of The Godfather I. Didn't stick around for the third one. And I agree, it isn't bad. I've watched them many times and always am amazed at how well they are done.
