no, and that is just plain false. Unless you are getting them imported or the distributor you purchase has a cache of old ones. the letters are clearly visible, and although the change in taste was not as dramatic as some, there is a noticeable difference.

When I smoke, I smoke Luckies, non-filtered.

I can feel the bad effects of smoking, so I don't smoke much anymore. But I enjoy it when I do. When I dress up (and I'm smoking) I have a silver(ish) cigarette case and a Zippo lighter. The non-filtered smokes have always had more flavor, but the Camels are too rough on my throat. Pall Mall reds are second place.

Good with coffee in the AM and with whiskey in the PM.

I smoked Luckies almost exclusively back in college and then switched over to the briar about ten years ago.

I now smoke the Luckies light now with blue label. Anyhow, cigarettes sold in different countries taste different albeit of the same brand. I never like the Marlboros in England but I smoke only Marlboros when I was living in the States.

They used to hand them out in little four packs in the military at the mess hall. There'd be a big steel bowl full of them and you could just take some at dinner time.

Lucky Strike is my go-to cigarette on any given day. I normally smoke about two or three of them per day. However, I was delighted to find that Phillip Morris actually still sells Chesterfield cigarettes in the King size (non-filtered, of course!). Chesterfields are a very bold smoke if anyone here has ever tried them. I would not recommended them to 'light' cigarette smokers. These things pack more punch than most 'red' filtered cigarettes. Both Lucky Strike and Chesterfields are amazing conversation starters when you pull them out of your suit pocket or metal cigarette case.

I gave this stuff up years ago. But I did enjoy a pack of strikes. It's toasted!

Yes the Luckies had a toasted flavor...from what I know, they are hard as hell to find any more around my area....

Imagine however,...smoking a Lucky that was in your Father's bowling ball bag for about 13 years....(cough...gasp...cough wheez...).

Chesterfields are extremely hard to find anywhere. I have an 'in' with a convenience store clerk and she is able to special order Chesterfields for me. I suppose if anyone is interested in picking up Lucky Strikes or Chesterfields, I'd start with chatting with a specialty tobacco store owner or pipe shop that sells cigarettes and see if you can get them ordered.

Luckies have a sweet-ish flavor from my smoking experience. I've smoked every 'classic' unfiltered cigarette out there today (Pall Mall, Camel, Lucky Strike, & Chesterfield), and I can say that Luckies are the sweetest in flavor and most enjoyable. The unfiltered Pall Mall's are a bit distasteful, but are worth smoking every once and a while. I just finished my last Pall Mall today. Camel's are my least favorite. While the packaging of Camels are classic, I find them quite distasteful (Ed Wynn would be upset, I know). Lucky Strike and Chesterfield are my two favorites.

If you note the illustrations on the Camel packs have one classic old joke on them.....you see the Camel and the Palm trees and the sandy desert....and where would you stay spending the night after a long journey in the desert...under a tree perhaps? No...not me, I would go around the corner to the Hotel!

I think the "roasting" of the tobacco of the Luckys give them a different smell and flavor that other cigarettes.

I agree Lucky's are about the best non-filtered cigarette out there, but when you could get them I really liked Chesterfield's...

Ah Luckys! I was given a case of old C-rations by an old vet from the Korean war. Being young and way dumb at the time opened them and yes smoked them! Stale as hell, but still tasty. and as the topper chewed the almost 40 year old chicklets. My misspent youth.....

What a nostalgic thread... smoked only unfiltered as a kid up through college... Luckies for sure, camel, Pall Mall Chesterfield Regular. (Bogart and my father and Grandfather did too)and Old Gold... Each had their own very distinctive taste and smell and no brand would satisfy you like your own, Right...?
I fondly remember buying "loosies" which would be 3 for a nickel but you had no choice cause it was whatever the storekeeper had opened that day...
haven't smoked a cigarette since the 80's... pipe smoker since then
