OCMH, Thanks!

Fábio, Both are fantastic! Looks like the LB's ribbon might have been repaired or replaced. Would it be possible to take photos of the liners and sweatbands?

Yes, the original riboon was pretty bad, so I've replaced it.
The LB hasn't liner, just a patch glued into, there wasn't sweatband anymore. Somebody ripped of. :(
The Tress & Co. has a white liner with the logo but half of the sweatband has been ripped off too...

Hey Moon, Wow, Jordan Marsh is a real blast from my past, my parents used to shop there in the 1970's.

That's a great old derby, it looks like it got lots of head time and the hat box is very interesting too. The United Hatters of North American existed from 1854 to 1934, based on what I found on the forum and the internet, so it is at least pre-1934.

I have a vintage bowler I have been wearing off and on for a few years. Took it out the other day and it looks like the brim is separating from the crown. WTF? Anyone else experience this? Any way to avoid/fix it?

Yes something similar on one of my P. & C. Habig Wien stiff felts. Luckily it's only in small sections and has not gone through all the way (see below). I think the only thing that can be done to avoid it from spreading is to be very careful. I think it would be difficult to make a good fix with glue. I also have a couple with small cracks on the brim but only noticeable at close inspection.

Dang it. Mine is separated 1/8 the way round at the front. You can see daylight threw it. Oh well guess I have to rely on my old Rober Hall for now.
Thanks for the info.

There have been some prime examples shown here lately. Very impressive! I'm always attracted to those in other colors than black. They seem so hard to find.
The Beckwiths and that early Stetson , wow.

I found this yesterday, and was ecstatic because it has the crown I've lusted after for so long, but way too big for me. It's a flat top bowler, with the slightly rounded corners. I made a friend buy it, as it was his size and you couldn't beat the price.

But I'm curious as to what year this may have been made. All I've been able to find is a start date of the department store where it was sold : 1902.
