Interesting. I would have guessed earlier than 80's but you know better than I do! I will admit though this hat does not scream hunting and fly fishing lol. I am anxious to get my hands on it and learn more about it.

I heard a few months back that Stetson was going to do a reissue of the 60s Gun Club fedora/porkpie in the fall. I know it isn't yet fall, but I was wondering if anyone knows when it will be released exactly. Thanks! :)

Is this a vintage/old Gun Club or ...?

Thanks!

I would expect the size tag and the ribbon to reveal the age?

The hat is still in the mail so I can't feel the quality of the awful thick felt - almost look like a wool hat!

(Sellers pictures obviously)

BTW is meant to be a replacement for this "thing" from which I will transfer the ear flap

Pandora,
I remember those braided hat bands being popular around the early 1980's. It was in the 1970's when the Steven's Hat Co. owned Stetson that they started using the joint size tags. Apparently Steven's was already using them. I have no info on the liner. I had a Gun Club in the late 80's and it had a different liner and a different hat band. Not much to go on I know, but I hope this helps date your hat.

I found this thread interesting. I didn't know about stingy brims and trilbys being a part of the Gun Club series.

Gun Club is a line within the Stetson group of hats.It would be very odd for it to have any exceptional value.

Cool liner logo and pin but seems likely made after the Philly Factory closed, sweatband looks 70's to me, low crown, stingy brim, so not a lot of collectors would be after this hat

LOL moon!
I've looked at dozens of GC's of various dimensions online, but they just don't trip my trigger, if ya know what I mean. Don't know exactly why, just not my style.

Size will be a determining factor, as well.

And as long as we're throwing out suggestions, Retro Spectator lies these things, too.

Heck, throw it in The Bay, maybe you'll get a nibble.

The bay is a good suggestion, start it at $30. If you're lucky and more than one person wants it you'll do better. You never know

I love my Gun Club but it's more of a western style. I think I paid about $45 for it on eBay. I'd love to have the gun pin
