My first ever find was a tan 1940's Stetson Royal Playboy in my local St.Vincent De Paul Thrift store some time ago...5 years, I think.
Very like The Wise Hatter, when I saw the one dollar price tag on it I nearly needed to be wheeled out on a stretcher.
It has since been my everyday hat.
Few months back and in the opposite direction at a local antiques shop, I cam across a grey Resistol & a tan w/ brown band Knox Twenty. When I saw the gold stamp on the Knox sweatband that it was sold fro Kaufmann's department store in Pittsburgh (30 miles from my home), I HAD to have it.
$30
The next payday, I Did.
Found nuthin' since.... Yet.
