Thanks, everyone, for your responses. The style of my one VS, a Milan straw, was taken from an old hat I saw on Etsy, but it looked so old that I didn't worry about it. I was just concerned in this case about asking Art to do something that might not be 100% kosher or that could get him in trouble. The source of my lust, by the way, is a little number in whiskey with a three-inch brim. And I think I've got it bad.

I'm not familiar with it. It's not in the samples I got from Art almost two years ago and doesn't show on his website. I also don't think anyone has posted photos of it. It must be new. A photo would help.

It really is. Art described it as having reddish tones, as opposed to pecan's greenish tint and whiskey's golden, and it's a shade lighter than chocolate.

As great as it looks now, it looks much better in person! Art and I found that it is sometimes hard to capture the Cabernet felt color in photos, since it tends to look lighter in most photos like in mine and the photos Art sent to me to test different ribbon colors. The felt is dark, with the closest look being the pic where I'm wearing it and the ones on Art's site of the original inspiration, Round Minight.

The ribbon design was me unable to settle with one ribbon color out of the four Art picked out for me and deciding to re-use the idea I had from my previous Art fedora, but having him show the second color ribbon on this hat show more than he did on the previous hat.

Wow. I've been out of the country for a month and the whole site's changed. Art: Hope all's well. I wore the midnight blue version of the Stendahl (the hat in my avatar) and received many nice compliments. Even in Milan!

Hi everyone! I just recently got this beautiful hat; it's Art's Confederate gray, has a 2 3/8" brim and a nice full crown. It's in dress weight felt and it's open-crown, so I play around with it before I decide on a definitive crease. The feather is my own addition!

The hat looks very nice, you wear it well. I just ordered my first VS hat from Art yesterday in the Confederate gray, open crown. I'm not sure about the ribbon color yet and Art is going to send me some pics of different ribbon colors on the felt next week. I was absolutely sure of what I wanted to have made until I received the email saying my spot in the queue was coming up and then my thought process kinda went out the door. However, I knew immediately upon speaking with Art for the first time I was in good hands.
