Pike Bros denim

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if anyone here has Pike brothers jeans? I'm looking at a few of their different models. They don't seem over the top expensive once VAT is deducted. Self edge have 15% off for the weekend. I was looking at some IH denim. With exchange rate etc, I can get 2 pairs of Pike Bros and nice shirt for not much more than one pair of discounted IH jeans. Anyone's experience would be appreciated.

Hi Bunyip, I recently went on a bit of a Pike Bros spending spree. I have an N1 deck jacket, 1936 Roamer jeans, Duck Canvas Hunting Pants. Elephant Skin Vest and a couple of their shirts. I have to say I am really happy with all the gear especially the quality of the trousers. They are also easy to deal with and are happy to answer any questions I had about sizing etc. i would not hesitate to order from them again.

Hi Bunyip,

I can also recommend their pants. Below you can see my Pike Bros Roamer 1937 11oz Pants after nearly two years of heavy daily use (I work with kids in the outdoors, so these pants really have to last). I have put it onto a new pair of the same type of pants. The old are still going strong.

I would go for it!

Never owned so can't commwnt on durability or fit, but I've handled quite a lot of Pike product alongside others, inclusing Japanese stuff, and it was very impressive indeed.

I have a pair of their Jeans & canvas hunting pants...view them as excellent value for money & pretty much live in the jeans...lots of positive comments when out & about (London 'Hipster' joints included) which is a testament in itself (though dubious in some respects). Don't hesitate! I have purchased other Pike Bros products too & all have become regular daily items of wear...they are one of my 'go to' manufacturers.

I haven't tried their denim,but I just received a waxed n1 deck jacket on Friday afternoon,,1st impression was great,,then I tried to fasten it up,immediately noticed that the buttons had been sewn on really poorly& the button holes wer full of loose threads.iv emailed pike brothers& sent pics on messenger,,so far no reply,,,oh & iv also had the buttons sewn on properly,,glaring issue on an otherwise solid product,,their reply Will determine if I buy from them again..

Bunyip, if you find yourself in Melbourne town, there is a shop called Pickings and Parry in Fitzroy sells their gear. They also sell Aero and many other top notch brands so leave yer credit card at home!

Ha! I saw that. I will check them out next time I'm down there. I would love to see a few new aeros in the flesh in different hides etc. I believe it's quite dear there. Good for a look at least.

I've had their waxed N-1 for a year or two. After reading your message I went to check it. Some loose threads, cut them off with scissors. Buttons solid. Never noticed before. Anyway, it's warm and waterproof. The sizing can be odd, difference between L & XL is weird (had an L in normal fabric, the waxed one is XL, not much difference).

Yeah the jacket seems great quality apart from these issues,,the button holes have been tidied up & buttons sewn on properly,,,they really wouldn't have lasted one or two fastenings..sent them the pics & suggested that their quality control is improved.it wasn't enough of an issue to pack it up & return to Germany.

...this is not an issue to my understanding but more a result of the use of their button-holer which sews the hole before the inner has to be cut by hand. Then you have loose threads which cannot do any harm to the button hole at all but can look ugly. Spent some more time and afford to cut the threads away would add to the price. Japanese do that. But for the price of one Real McCoy's N-1 you get two PB N-1's. One should keep that in mind. To me, I rather save some bucks and take the three minutes it takes to cut them away myself.

I've got a few nice jackets that need the buttons to be re-enforced. Good reminder. I'll check on my PB N-1 too.
It seems a more common problem these days, so I hope you get it sorted before you lose any.
*edit: I have an RRL jacket that is an N-1 style and I love it. Indeed, just now noticed that one of the pocket buttons is gone!
Time to do some Sunday mending...

THAT is indeed a real bother! I inspected my PB N-1 after your experience but mine is OK. Buttons carefully fastened. Please tell them, I am sure, they would appreciate your hint. They are really nice people at Pike Brothers and try hard to satisfy their customers.

Well, I've got raw denim from tellason, rogue territory, left field and others. The pike bros was most robust that I've had. The fit wasn't too perfect on me, so I stopped wearing it after a year. But there were no repairs or anything.
On all the other US denims there have been repairs after only 2-3 months.

Aaaah, one thing I’ve just remembered. The pockets on PB denim are placed very low. They’re more like in baggy pants, IMHO. But if that doesn’t bother you, they’re great!
