Repro Tanker Boots

Bruce Wayne

My Mail is Forwarded Here
I have been doing some research into tanker boots as I might be getting a pair in the near future & I've discovbered that the ones issued in the past had a cap toe on them similar to the Corcoran jump boots whereas the modern one are a plain toe. Does anyone know of some that are currently being made the same way?

Thanx!!!

I don't know of any that are currently made with a cap toe, at least none made by Corcoran, HH, Matterhorn, etc. on the Munson last. I've had two pairs of the Corcoran tankers and they both have the plain toe. I've just ordered a third pair of these because IMHO they are the perfect motorcycle boot. They are comfortable with a good, solid "storm welt" sole (similar to the Goodyear welt but with better water resistance) and the straps allow you to tighten the boot more securely around the ankle and lower leg with no strings to get caught in chains and sprockets. Of all my boots, they are hands down the most comfortable and the ones I always prefer when riding, especially in rainy weather.

Dehner also makes a respectable tanker boot but not with a cap toe. I do have a pair of lace/zipper Corcoran combat boots with the cap toe and it is a very classic look.
