As far as tweed suits, have you checked out Walker Slater in Edinburgh? Their suits look very nice, are reasonably priced, and have been praised by some of the Scottish brethren here on the Lounge. I'm saving up for one in the immediate future. Tweed-suit addiction can survive even the Tropics.

One of the arguments I read in defence of thin wool blends, is that proper thick tweed is hot and unnecessary because of central heating. I contest that, as I find that tweed is adaptable to different temperatures, that it is heavy doesn't mean it is not breathable. On top of that, if you walk everywhere as I do, you are happy to have the extra warmth outdoors.
I've seen the Walker Slater stuff before (online) and it does look pretty good. Modern, but not trendy.

Patrick, that's a beautiful suit, and I think it's generally extremely practical to have younger alternatives to one's proper vintage suits which still generally retain the desired cut.

Dinerman, like the attire, very appropriate for the occasion. the cap reminds me of alpine/german army versions. The jeans... have character.

Shirt is a 1950s long sleeve Arrow sports shirt
The houndstooth pattern western jacket is 90s
Pants are modern dockers
Aviators were my grandpas might be 70s.

Funny story today...so I'm in the elevator leaving the office today, and the car stopped on a lower floor. Two ladies, one middle aged, one fairly young, step on. I'm wearing an ordinary sport coat with a pocket square and have my hat in my hand. Because this is Texas and people love to chat you up in the elevator, the older lady said something like "oh, we'll get to ride with this nicely dressed gentleman." I said "thank you." The younger one says "yeah, you even have a napkin in your pocket." I couldn't help but chuckle, as did the older lady who said quietly, "that's not a napkin."
