How are you guys figuring sizing on the SJC engineer boots? I'd normally wear a size 9.5e in most US sizes but I'm unsure what that would translate to in his sizing. I'm guessing a size 9uk but with engineer's it would be a real pain if they were too big.

I asked about this on another thread. It seems they are being made in only full sizes and that they fit to size. I'm not sure where that leaves us half-size types.

From speaking to Simon, the boots seem to run a half-size bigger than the stated number, hence the publishing of the last sizes. I'm swithering over whether to go with the seven or six at the moment. I have some boots that are 6.5, 7 and 7.5s, there seems to be little consistency out there. Part of me thinks go with the 6 and they'll mould with wear as loose boots are a nightmare.

Thanks. After blowing a fair amount of money on myself at Christmas on a guitar, I was sitting here all smug in my frugal virtue of how I don't need anything else. Then those Balmorals had to happen. Now I'm considering all kinds of slimy excuses to work on my wife about how I really, really need these things. And the clock's running. Damn this forum!

Do it Tropicalbob!
The balmorals are really beautiful.

Side note: I met Brian of Role Club at Inspiration. What a nice guy, and beautiful boots. He had a vintage pair of Chippewas on display. I now have a "Grail" boot :)

Thanks for that measurement chart, belopsky. I'm a 9.5E/EEE and went with the 9UK. Need to measure some of my boots' insoles to see whether or not I should switch to 8.

Let me know what you come up with on that Rev_rend. I'd be interested to know. I compared with some measurements that White's uses and it looked like sizing down might be a good idea but I haven't actually measured any of my boots yet.
