1940s-1950s mackinaw, of the type very popular in post-war France.
Referred to as the 'Canadienne'

Canvas outer, sheepskin lining, leather buttons, detachable belt.

Here is an article on post war French style which was moving away from the established fashions:
''the Frenchman is above all a realist: since he knows well he can never be a blond gorilla with eyes of steel he makes no especial effort to look like one; instead, he prefers to give the impression that he has just blown up a railway bridge. ''

Around a size 44/46. please account for the thickness of the lining:
  • armpit to armpit 27 inches
  • shoulder seam to cuff 25 inches
  • shoulder to shoulder 20 inches
  • length from hem to base of collar 31 1/2 inches

Excellent condition apart from one missing button.

£95 or make me a reasonable offer. (paypal)

Thanks for looking, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Still available.
Obviously it's still summer, but here is an investment for many future winters.

Offered considerably cheaper here than comparable items I could find on ebay or etsy.
