This morning there was a chill in the air, and while it wasn't freezing, it was enough of a cold front to excuse my lighting the wood burning stove this afternoon. Following that I ground my Big Bend Coffee Roaster Davis Mountain Blend, and set my pot on the stove. The results, a fine dessert coffee, topped with heavy cream, a bit of real sugar, and some good Jameson Whiskey. A fine evening all and all..

My favorite bio-fairtrade instantcoffee is not more pure, fruity Tanzania-coffee, since the late year 2016. The actual mixture is Papua-New Guinean/Tanzania/Uganda. But it's still ok. Not more the great fruitiness of the Tanzania, more like usual strong coffee. But, they were fair and lowered the price from 4,99 EUR to 3,99 EUR for the 100 Gramm-box.

I have posted this before I think.....I have crossed over to the dark side and now use an Nespresso machine (I own two models) I used to grind the beans and use a French press but oh the mess it made. So now with little down side in terms of quality of the finished product there is zero mess and just a bit of hassle schlepping the used capsules back to Nespresso for recycling.

This morning was the usual instant stuff from Aldi, but yesterday my parents came over, so I brewed Tribal Grounds. It's an enterprise owned by members of my own tribe (I'm enrolled Eastern Band Cherokee) and they make some excellent coffee. I brewed the lighter blend, Sunalei--the name means "morning," and it's oddly enough the least strong of their five or so blends.

A macchiato from a local espresso roastery. Just two ingredients: espresso, and a kiss of steamed milk. None of this sickly-sweet caramelly Starbucks stuff.
