From Jaws:

Quint: You have city hands, Mr. Hooper. You been countin' money all your life.
Hooper: All right, all right. Hey, I don't need this... I don't need this working-class-hero crap.

What I love is Hooper, he takes an unprovoked roundhouse to the jaw, staggers a bit and, then, fires off a pretty strong counter punch to show he's still standing.

From what I've heard Shaw and Dreyfuss didn't care for each other off camera, so a lot of the animonity they display towards each other on screen was natural.

And good, then, for Shaw being able to act that he had developed respect and concern for Hooper toward the end when they are putting Hopper in the shark cage. As with so many moment in that movie, it feels real, it feels like raw human emotion - hell, we're dying out on this boat, not much reason to keep emotions in check now.

From a Fist Full of Dollars:
Joe: Get three coffins ready.
[Having said "get three coffins ready" earlier]
Joe: My mistake. Four coffins...

And

Joe: I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

American Hot Wax. But, this song came first!
Yes I knew that, the whole film is a travesty of facts but despite the lack of historical accuracy it was a real happy feel good film. And I was in love with Fran Drescher for a while after that film came out

I love Jonathan Quayle Higgins III quotes. Back in the day, I identified with Thomas Magnum. Now, a couple of decades later, I thoroughly and completely identify with Higgins. One more:

Higgins: Malaysia, 1943, our regiment was hopelessly outnumbered and facing certain death. In our ranks was a young lieutenant, Ian Bowerly, and during a lull in the battle, he recited "Gunga Din," I suppose to keep up our courage for facing the inevitable. His eloquent recitation grew increasingly louder until it thundered through the jungle. To our amazement, the Japanese troops walked forward. Though they spoke no English, they were entranced by the poem. They allowed us all to leave the area unharmed except for poor Mr. Bowerly. As we made our escape we could hear him reciting other Kipling favorites, literally for miles. To this day his fate remains unknown.

In actuality Higgins couldn't have fought in Malaya in 1943 because it was completely occupied by the Japanese from February 1942 until their surrender in September 1945. A similar thing occurs in an episode of the sitcom Goodnight, Sweetheart which is partially set in 1941. In that episode Phoebe receives a letter from her husband who is fighting in Tunisia. The British did not get to Tunisia until late 1942 early 1943.

Hay, I can picture an 11 year old John Hillerman kicking the Japanese out of Malaya in 1943! His shorts alone would scare them to death! ;)

Heh. That reminds me of Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren in "The Hateful 8." He was in "Wellenbeck Prisoner of War Camp, West Virginia." It was a Rebel camp. Pretty good trick, considering West Virginia was a Union state. I don't know if this was supposed to be an alternate time stream, a la "Inglorious Basterds," or just that Tarantino is one of those people who assume that "southern" means "Confederate."

From Sin City...
Jack Rafferty (corrupt cop): Come on in the car, baby.
Becky (teen hooker played by Alexis Bleidel, to then known as the daughter Gilmore Girl): I'm sorry. I do the day shift and it's been a long day. Besides, I don't do group jobs.
Jack Rafferty: Come on in and we can just have a nice talk.
Becky: I don't do talk jobs either.
...
Becky (continuing the banter with Rafferty, who is with three other corrupt cops): Go try the Alamo over on Dillon Street. That's the Alamo, not the Amigo. The Amigo's a fag joint.

The last sentence is now omitted when played on TV. Plenty of murder, rape, corruption, but that 3 letter word and any nudity is too much for the general public to deal with.
