Vanson lead time

I ordered a couple Vanson jackets in August. They aren't custom, simply out of stock so they need to be made. Anyone know what the lead time has been lately?

My model B ( America Jacket ) was made and shipped to me in 12 weeks.

I called Vanson a couple weeks ago to see if they had a jacket I liked in my size. They did not, and the lady I spoke to told me there was a 12-16 week lead time for new orders.

Did you check with Carrie and/or Wade at Insurrection/Thurston Bros? If they have what you need or have an order already placed with Vanson, perhaps it's not too late to order thru them. It might be worth checking out.

I got two Velociraptors (still made but not current catalog) made - I ordered in February for a MC trip starting on 21 June - they did not make the date...

Ultimately, Whatever the wait. It's worth it. My advice would be to check in and just see where you're at in the queue. They're nice folks and they'll certainly let you know.

I ordered directly through Vanson when they ran a sale this past August.
I have a Vanson Comet, and I love the quality. Thus the most recent purchase.

I second checking with Thurston Bros, especially if its a model they carry regularly. Also, if in NYC area, perhaps check out Inspiration NYC on Oct 15-16? Looks like Vanson has a booth there. Hi all!

What we've seen lately for our custom Vanson customers (pattern changes, color changes, etc.) is about a 5-8 week wait time.

I was told a 5 week wait for a non-custom order. They didn't have my size, but of course had one size down and one size up! That was 3 weeks ago when I asked. Anyone else with any input? I'm eagerly waiting and hope the estimate wasn't too off. Also, do they usually send an email or give a phone call when the item ships? Or does your card suddenly get charged at that time?

I got an email and my card was charged at the same time...........

I'd like to get an answer from anyone at Vanson and can't seem to get one. I guess I'll have to try calling. All I need is a replacement patch for a Marauder I bought. The original owner must didn't like the patch and cut it off.

FYI, I placed my order for an off the rack enfield, which was out of stock , on Sept 7th. Just got the update that it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow. That's just under 6 weeks. Custom orders I'm sure are a different story.

What weight leather is your jacket?
The two I ordered are off the rack as well. I was told they were waiting on a shipment of leather for my jackets. Thanks for the info!

Comp. weight. What styles did you order? Maybe they had a batch of enfield's planned or something along those lines, and was unrelated to my specific order. David, on the phone, mentioned that they just received a shipment of leather, when I spoke to him last Tuesday.

Just as a quick side note, I received my jacket yesterday and have to say it is some of the toughest, thickest leather I have encountered. Having owned 2 Aero FQHH and 4 Schotts (not all at once), it's actually stiffer and seems thicker than the FQHH, and makes the Schotts feel like sweatshirt cotton. It's actually slightly uncomfortable at the moment, but it's sized just right so I'm looking forward to the break in process and eventually getting it to the point that it's reasonably comfortable. I also really like the fact that the leather is died black all the way through. My black Aero FQHH was showing brown after even the lightest of scratches. My fingernail could actually scrape the black dye right off fairly easily. I know some people like this trait, and this is even why the buy these jackets, but it was making me weary of making any contact with anything while wearing the jacket. This wont be a problem for me with the Vanson. The brass hardware also is a nice touch. Sorry to be slightly off track here, but I wanted to let you guys know you are getting one hell of a jacket! It feels like it will take forever to break in, but that's half the fun! Of course Boston is experiencing a rare October, potentially record breaking, heat wave this week
