I can't help but wonder what ever happened to that car. I'd like to think it's in storage somewhere, but they probably sold it for scrap as soon as they were done with it.

It used to be that some of GM's design cars & other pet projects would end up in the hands of one of their executives or the designer. Some were eventually resold then & are in private collections today. Along about the late 1960's - early 1970's GM started to worry about product liability & so most were destroyed. Today GM has a museum & the best examples of their work ends up there.

My Dad has a few "tater bug" mandolins like that. He would always play one in the evenings around the camp fire on our camping trips.
