Interesting that it is called a "Derby Rack" Was/is this hat shaped mute the go-to tool for the purpose. I seem to remember seeing 1930s musicals where the horn players used actual hats as mutes, or were they painted to look like real Derbys?

Shame I don't have the stand. I have most of the mutes and the clip that holds the Derby. I just am not sure if it's silver or some sorta tin. I do know it's from the 20's.
