This is the best Charlie!
If inclined a little to the left becomes "un cappello sulle ventitrè" (a hat on twenty-three), real fashion in Italy in the twenties and thirties.
It is said of the hat or cap brought much tilted to one side, like the line that traces the diameter of the face of a clock by touching the digits indicating the hours of 5 and 11 hours, that is, the twenty-three is often understood as a sign of bravado ;)

Thanks for that bit of hat lore. I will try to remember that phrase.

Cold, windy and getting windier. Rosemont Wool felt that I got for a buck, because if it blows off I won't be chasing it into traffic.

I think it's actually quite an old hat, has a much decayed but real leather sweat.

Now I'm off to the vintage button store seeking a replacement button for my coat.

Seems like most of the usual suspects are showing up. Is it time for the lineup?

Thank you very much, Daniele. I learned something new today, thanks to you! However, because I have one ear (the right side ) much lower than the other, I have always tilted right. (See avatar photo, left.) Does that mean I wear "un cappello sulle une trenta cinque?" This really is a super example of Italy's longtime fashion-forward position in the world. Love it!!

Dang you guys and gal stay up late.

Rogera – Sharp!

RJR – Love that color.

David – Looks well worn.

1mach – Awesome hat.

hatsRme – That is one funky hat. I vote brim down. But I NEVER put a brim up. I’m unihateral.

Benza – Nice rebash. Looks great.

Knotten – Looking sharp this morning. Dang it looks cold there. Stay warm!

Michael A – Great coat. Hat’s looking good, too, especially for a wool one.

40Cal – Great Disney. A beauty.

Bob – Nice. Up or down looks good. You would be bihateral.

Moon – Gorgeous

For me, my Borsalino “Renna”. Love this hat.
