It's not felt but it is a Pilgrim. Just finished cleaning this up a bit and opting for a brighter pug.

As a bump to this thread......I was out and about and found this 50's beauty Wednesday!!!! Looks to have been little worn, NO mothing but needed brushing and was rather crushed when found. Resulted in an unfortunate crease in the tip under the plastic protector. Hard to correct and I really don't want to remove the sewn liner......o_O It also has that green verdigris and degradation of the logo on the tip........some foxing in the liner..... otherwise really really fine........as you can see.
Anyway is is WAYYYYYY to small for me at 6 7/8 will make someone an awesome hat when I get around to listing it....

Mid-late 50's Pilgrim Deluxe Sable Finish Back Bow. This is quite the nice hat as far as the felt goes, absolutely soft, flexible, with a great hand. VERY interesting sewn under-welt with stitching detail matching the color of the ribbon, BUT, CANNOT be seen above!!! From the top of the brim you would swear it is a Cavanaugh edge!
Typical of the "shrinkage" in hats of the mid to late 50's this has a 2 1/4 inch brim, with a little over 5 inch crown. USUALLY, (and almost always shown in ads) back bows were done in a porkpie fashion with a flat or telescope crown only. This was found with a pinch front which is actually looks quite nice so I left it......this is an awesome chocolate color with a sort of gold/tan ribbon and under-stitching.
Best thing about this is it fits ME!:):):)

Pilgrim Western. 3 1/2 inch brim, 5 3/4 open crown. I bought this several months ago and haven't had it cleaned or done anything with it yet. The seller said it was a 70's hat, but I think it's a little older than that, maybe 50's or 60's. Doesn't say it's made of Beaver, but feels like it has some to me. The sweatband says Hand Creased, which was a popular Resistol phrase, so I suspect Resistol made this hat. The mfg tag also looks like Resistol to me. The liner has a Bronco rider pictured.
