Went to the local antiques fair today hoping to find a nice hat, but was disappointed. The only decent one on sale was an old Borsalino with original box, but unfortunately it was 2 sizes too large for me and too expensive to buy just to sit in the box and be pretty. I did pop it on my head for a minute just to make sure it didn't fit, so I've decided it belongs in this thread, as I did technically wear it.

Celia do not despair for too large Borsalino.
I have a Borsalino (high ribbon and so on) usual box in your size and also a surprise, or so I hope, that await you in Italy or they can reach you in Europe;)

While taking detail pictures of the new Olcott, I sneaked a couple of selfies while the wife wasn't looking. I can't wear it until my birthday on Sunday. Pardon the t-shirt, but wanted to get a shot of the great bash that Mike did for me. I feel just a little dirty, but in a good way!

Hey guys! I've been away on business for a week-and-a-half so I haven't been able to stop in.

Backtracking: I gave my little presentation on how to fold hats to my wife's AP English students. They were very impressed with the little bit of knowledge I had to share and they loved checking out my small (to them huge) collection of vintage lids. In the presentation, I covered different hat types, crown and rake styles, brim types, lining types, fur qualities, popular vintage brands, how to measure your hat size, and (finally) I gave a demo on how to steam, fold, and brush a hat. They loved it! They wanted to know where to find a good beginner fur hat to practice folding—I recommended both ebay and D'Aquino on Etsy (some like vintage; others prefer new). Then they asked where they should go for a good custom hat (for when they feel like they can properly appreciate a good hat)—I recommended MC Gannon based on everyone else's stellar reviews, and also because his price range isn't totally unreasonable for a college student. The kids started a group-chat to geek out about their newfound hat lust.

Anyway! Today, good ol' Lock & Co:
