Changed the factory crease on my Stetson "Windham." Tightened the pinches and brought them fwd. Curled the brim a bit and gave it some front to back rake.

I recently purchased a Stetson Premier Stratoliner that came with an open crown.
At first I did a simple bash, center dent and pinch front.
Looking at the hat and the era that it represents I decided to make it a tear drop crown.
So with a spray bottle of water I spritzed it and shaped it.
It came out pretty good, approx.4" front, 5" on the sides and 31/2 in the back , a nice rake.
My next project will be a diamond crown on a Stetson Premier Whippet that I recently ordered.
I enjoy your informative

This example is one of the finest teardrops I have seen.....it is brilliant. I have a Gannon with a monster crown that I now want to rework into a more radical rake teardrop like this. Thank you!

I'm a distinct fan of the center-dent, with or without front pinches. I've got some preshaped hats with teardrop creases, and I like them too, but I always seem to come back to the center-dent with my open crown hats. Not sure why, but something about the simpler, older, closer-to-homburg look just appeals to me.

It depends on the hat, IMO. Generally, though, my preference runs center dent with side dents and a medium tight front pinch... then teardrop, diamond and 6-point diamond. I tried a center crease on my Gannon but it just wasn't rihht... diamond is much better on this hat.

Since I was finally able to achieve a Diamond Crease on my Dark Brown Fed IV back in December the hat and I have been almost inseparable, so I thought I'd push my luck and try to duplicate my success on my Tawny Fawn Fed IV since I was getting a little bored with the Teardrop Crease I had given it:

I got roughly the same amount of rake and made the "snap" at the front of the brim more subtle than it was, but this time I made the side "points" of the Diamond closer to the back of the crown. This makes this hat fit a little more snug on my regular oval head, but I like it. As always, comments and constructive criticisms are welcome!

Nice job.
Thank you most sincerely for the comments and likes Gentlemen! Anthony, you know I really like your particular style of Diamond Crease, so I consider that high praise from a master. I think mine is a little more "traditional", but I think it suits the Fed IV rather well.
