Never mind - the lack of responses probably means you haven't had any experience of them - I intend to drive over to one of their stockists and check them out then report back.

Im sure they appreciate the hits they are getting from TFL maybe someone else will beat me to their stockist? I've wanted to see Hebden Bridge for some time - this'll make a better reason to visit.

I saw some Hebtroco trousers when they first started - good quality modern trousers using some of the fine fabrics still available in the area. But totally modern in style and of no interest to me personally. If you are in the area I recommend a visit to Spencers Trousers situated on the A646 between Hebden and Halifax, they have a big range of excellent fabrics and will make you a pair of trousers to your own specification. I had Spencers make me a pair of cords using a pair of my 1940s trousers as a pattern (US Army 1945 pattern trousers in fact). They seem to be a lot cheaper if you order in person as well.

Did you ever pay a visit to Hebden Bridge and see the Hebtroco trousers?

D
I'm late to this thread and I haven't ever bought Hebtroco trousers, but I can tell you that their prices are seriously competitive. Sometimes you just have to take a chance. I use a tailor in London, have done for many years. Others have found him not to their liking, it's the way life is. By the way, I have found someone new who makes great trousers, all these years that I have been married to her too. Edward and I both like our pants with width, mine are twenty two inch bottoms. They cost something close to the Hebtroco trousers, and that's without a labour charge. That's how I know that Hebtroco are competitive.

hi Edward, sorry for the late reply, I don't visit the lounge very often nowadays.

By in person I mean visiting the workshop. Easy for me as I only live a couple of miles away on a direct bus route! I think I paid about £85 at a time when the website was quoting £125, and I was asking for a lot of customization.

Thanks, sounds like it might be worth a visit in that case. I certainly seem to hear of a lot of folks paying much less than the website quotes.

Edward, if you are ever thinking of a pair of made-to-measure trousers, think George. That's George Dyer, of Walworth. Click on George's name, scroll down to trousers, top dollar, made-to-measure pants for one hundred and twenty-five pounds.
