Nah, you're obviously not a pipe smoker. A good bowl of pipe tobacco can last 40-45 min. His eyes stare straight ahead yet he doesn't see. Rather he is reliving a moment from his past in his mind's eye, or perhaps reviewing a decision he has yet to make. It can be so relaxing it's like being out of body.
