This beauty has graced this thread before, but now it is in my stable. Mallory Ten Homburg, 50s vintage based on Matt's ideas. There is only one tag present, a union stamp (I need to re read that thread now...). Love the finish and the detail on the bow. Overall, this is a great brown version for my Homburg collection. Thanks to Matt, one helluva guy!

Do you own or have you seen any vintage Stetson St Regis Hommies in person? Is so, what is your opinion? I have seen them but always upwards of $200 and wondered if they are worth adding to my stable??? Thoughts?
Yes, I do indeed have 1, in a nice rich brown......I really like it.....very tall crown with a nice wide open brim.....true American style.....here is a picture again.....it is posted earlier in this tread.
I know others here have several and seem to really like these early ones. The felt is really nice and moulds well. Mine arrived with the standard center dent alone.....but I put in the front pinches......no steam needed....
Yes, I really like mine......
I think patience will deliver you one for a reasonable price......unfortunately I am a bigger size and have to pay up for most every hat. Though even I have had some good luck on the bay and HERE with kind fellow loungers!!
Best,
M

This arrived yesterday. I don't know much about Collins & Fairbanks, but the hat looked absolutely cool so I had to put down a bid. Glad I did!
It had a wonky brim when it came out of the box. This is pre-dewonkification, facing forward.

It took some heavy steaming and hand-shaping plus holding it in the desired shape till it cooled to get the wonk out.
Post-dewonkification.

The simple box bow is growing on me. Nice clean look to it.

5 3/4" open crown, 2 5/8" brim. Not a lightweight at 161g. Sweatband is substantial, and still supple with good stitching. This is a nicely made hat.
I will venture a guess of late thirties to early forties. Any input always welcome.

I'm glad you got this one. I was eyeballing it as well. It turns out to be an outstanding hat, I'm impressed and just a little envious! I didn't bid, so I can't whine.
