What a great resource from the closing years of the independent Mallory brand... thanks for posting these, B.

The Nokabout has higher I.Q. (inherent quality). I wonder how that one made it out of the board room.

I believe this was dealer price per dozen. The retail price would be double. This is still a very high price for the time period. This was also the time period when Austrian Velours were becoming popular in America.

So that would make them $10 hats which equates to a much more reasonable $240.

I feel a lot better knowing that, but I will admit, I kind of wish the first math was right. That would have been epic!

Yes that seems about right for the time period. During WWI and later the prices of Austrian Velours (JHS, A. Peschel, P. & C. Habig) sky rocketed (tariffs + limited supply) you see prices from $20.00 up to $40.00 per hat.

I forgot how much I enjoyed this thread the first time I went through it. It is worth a bump for our new members of late. I won't say it is required reading, but close to it.
