Wearing my latest conversion, thanks to Anthony. This is a Resistol Western that I just finished converting, (yeah, I know. It's black). I sized it from a 7 1/8 to a 7 1/4, replaced the sweat and put a black two ply thin ribbon on it....I'll post more pics in the conversion corral.

Although I will miss outfits as cool as this, let us look forward to sunny days and more happy colors and straw hats.
I'm looking forward to some sun, not this week apparently, but I'm fine if it stays in felt weather for quite awhile longer.

I've got a Sunday school class to teach, some 11 year old tasmanian devils to be more precise. I'm pretty sure their parents inject them with high fructose corn syrup and Naptha before sending them to me. LOL.

Anyway, off the to cloud covered races in my pecan NW Hats fedora; 5-3/4" open crown, center dent with medium side dents, dimensional brim at 2-5/8" front/back and 2-1/2" on the sides.

Brooks Brothers Blue Label, Italian made suit ($40) and game bird silk tie ($7) from Tweedydon here on the FL (price was $75 for the suit and 2 silk ties, but Tweedydon put in a 3rd silk tie, and the suit came with $17 Euros in the pocket!), Florsheim shoes for $9.99 and white shirt at $7.99 from the local Goodwill. Total cost for the outfit is about $65. Hat adds $250 though!!!

I can't believe the stuff I find at the local Goodwill store. A London Fog lined top coat for $19.99, a nice, heavy, black leather jacket for $24.99. I never find decent men's hats at the local stores, though... Michael is my idol in that regard!

Red, David Garrison is a member of the Indy Gear forum who started to make his own hats, I believe with some help from Steve Delk. If you don't know of Steve, he is the top Indy hat maker and made the hats for the fourth Indiana Jones Movie. His brand is Adventurebilt.

John Penman is another hatmaker that was inspired and helped by Steve.

I bought my Garrison Raiders hat some years back and it has taken a lot of abuse in rain, snow and the Texas heat. Still going strong.

Cheers!

Thanks, I know of Adventurebilt, did not know the lineage. Their website is well put together, quite a premium for the Beaver over bunny. I'm kind of liking his naming style. The Ladd series is of interest.
