Good meal that you use to see regularly on restaurant menus - diners, pubs, casual places - but haven't in years. Even some more upscale places might have had it on their menu as a more modestly priced item - but again, not anymore.

Late nite at the office beckons pub grub later. Chopped steak, vegetables, French bread, and a domestic brew.
Cubs lost last eve to the Pirates-Lester boloed the plate and pitching. Got hit all night long. And La Stella should be his permanent pinch.
The Bulls are losing their struggle with Boston, R's out with a broken finger, thumb, whatever. Team was together though.

I'm lazy; Costco roast chicken; shredded to heck, full-length fideo noodles, some left over chicken broth from last week, chopped celery, carrots, yellow onions, turnips, shallots (whole), and garlic and boiled till finished; the chicken goes in last, just to heat it up, and I'm flavoring everything with dill, green pepper corns, and a hint of Montreal steak seasoning (the broth already has plenty of flavor, and sherry....) I might through in some left over basmati rice pilaf, or saffron rice that I've got lying about, too. I'm sick as a dog today. Maybe I'll have some of Grandpa's cough medicine on the side; Cherry Vishnik and Bourbon with seltzer water and salt; give it a swizzle and yummm.......

Tried my hand at making pho. Maybe a little heavy on the noodles, but the flavor was good. Better next time.

My dad loved beef stroganoff - not so much spinach. Any chance you could be coaxed into posting pictures of these incredible meals once in awhile?

Barbecued brisket and pulled pork, mashed potatoes, salad, steamed broccoli, and a couple of Modelos at a barbecue joint in Fresno a couple of nights ago. Great food. Last night, pizza. Tonight, barbecue chicken, a baked potato, a salad, and a Dr. Pepper.
