Most Akubra "western" hats retail for about $130 to $150.
I haven't seen the Drover before, it has an unfinished edge (no trim) so not as expensive as, say, the Cattleman.
You would be lucky to get $50 for it, being second hand and all. I'd hold on to it.

Just got one off ebay for 50 bucks in my size. Anybody have any info on what any these labels mean? To me it seems it made specifically for the west (US of A). Im not sure though.
One of the labels has the model name and number.The other indicates that it is a hat made for a specific retailer.Akubra has done exclusives for several retailers;Outback Trading,David Morgan,Hats Direct,etc.

I looked up the company and they're not selling the hat in their site. Makes me want to believe that it's rare
I kinda doubt that ANY Akubra is very rare.You'll find that over time they change/rename/modify models.The Adventurer is an example.In other cases they might add brim binding or grommets and change the name.I looked up the company and they're not selling the hat in their site. Looks rare to me. Similar to the Cattleman, yes but different. I know what its like to have a rare Akubra. I have a Black Down Under that I love. Then they stopped making them in Black. Now they don't make them at all. not at all. Not even on special request. Now I have to baby the one I have because there will be no replacement when it wears out. The closest model is the Snowy River. Let me tell you, it is a different beast all together. Close, yes. But not the same........

Are you sure it's Akubra? It may be on the crown although it is usually on the band. There are a few hat manufacturers in Australia that it could be by.

It looks pretty new as the lining is clean and the printing clear. The measurement is in metric which came into Australia in 1972, so less than 45 years old

Akubra have traditionally made street hats, e.g. fedoras, trilbies. "Western" style hats started in the late 70's (at least that is when I first noticed them). I use the factors I listed above (cleanliness, tags) to estimate the age.
