I'm not really much of a vintage clothing collector. I mainly collect WWII. Picked this up at an estate sale because, its horsehide similar to the A-2 and looked really cool with the blanket liner.

Think these are hard to find?

I think it's a pretty rare design- never seen one quite like it. Love the back.
Love the design of the hand warmer pockets. Wow!

Lovely jacket, and in pretty good looking condition. They're one of those jackets that, if you can wear it with sufficient attitude, they look great! Hiro at Aero Japan rocks it brilliantly:

There was a beautiful tawny lady's one at the factory when I was over at the start of the month - so it had a bit too much front - but it did make me want one... even with the dreich Scottish climate, I'd wear it and be damp!

That's an unusual griz. A very cool one indeed. The back is quite unique. I've wanted one of these forever but found the fortitude required to wear one is just beyond my reach.

Great find. I like this one as well as most I have seen. Yes, I would say they are hard to find especially in wearable condition. This one also appears to be black. Seems most are brown.

This has the look of one I could wear, although in a bigger size@! You don't see too many larger sizes in this style.

Never seen a back like that one before. Interesting. The front is very similar to the Grizzly SJC have prototyped, though Simon's has button fastening.

And the shawl collar! I loved that jacket and really regret I didn't have the sand to pull the trigger and buy one. The price was quite good as well. For some reason I have no fear of an unusually colored leather jacket but I'm hesitant to tip my toe in the furry jacket pool.

I might consider it next time around, depending on what else is on offer for the scratch to go on. I was in two minds about the black one, but it brown it was very impressive. I'd love to have one fitted with CE-armour plates at the shoulders / elbow . back / chest (wouldn't bother with chestplates normally in a full leather, but behind the fur I think worth it). IT'd bed pretty cool to see a Grizzly purpose designed as a bike jacket.

How does SJC work? Will they put out another run of those griz jackets? I kind of figured once they were gone...that's all she wrote.

It's still a small, fledgling label, working its way up tog a stock model. That will take time, of course, with bigger outlay items. Simon's planning a new run of leather jackets over the next year or two; I believe he wants to do his Grizzly again as part of that. Best thing is to keep an eye on his website - there's a mailing list, though the forum is the ideal way for keeping up with upcoming projects. www.simonjamescathcart.com / www.sjcforum.com.
