Yes, It is one of the smoothest shooting pistols that I have ever shot.
You are right. It is a modular pistol.
To field strip and disassemble, you lock the slide to the rear.
Then rotate the takedown lever down, release the slide, and the slide comes off the frame.
You can then remove the recoil spring/guide rod assembly and barrel for cleaning. Now this is where it gets neat. you remove the takedown lever from the frame and remove the trigger or firearm control assembly.
The trigger assembly is the only part of the pistol that is serial numbered. You can then swap out frames for either a compact or subcompact. you can even get an entire upper assembly and change calibers. So you have the option of tailoring the pistol to your needs.

After a period of nonsensically despising striker fired pistols, I now really like them ... once the triggers are improved. I should really try the SIG, I used to like their DA guns a lot.

An ElFaisin 410 side X side made in Spain. I've had this one for about 20 years. It's not worth much but it has a nostalgic sort of look that appeals to me.

Me, too. It speaks to the small holder trying to keep the crows out of his corn and an occasional bunny or squirrel for the pot. The term 'poor but honest' comes to mind.

This is my very first Sig Deacon. They are kind of pricey and I thought I would sort of just get my feet wet with a cheaper model before jumping in head first.

Merc, you will be spoiled by Sigs. The quality is just "there" with those guns from their polymer stuff up through their top-line stuff.
