I just saw a couple very nice blue Panama straw hats, Cuenca i think, at a mall in Guayaquil, Ecuador. It's the color of the national champion soccer team, Emelec.

Also saw a couple straw hats that were crocheted, not hand woven, also blue.

Cuenca seems to be trying out some modern touches with their hats. Some interesting, others not so much. They had some stingy brim hats with patterns of colored straw woven in that were pretty cool looking... ady least I imagine they would be for/ the right customer.

The sunshine returns, the missus will be glued to the TV watching the tennis at Wimbledon, for the next two weeks. I shall be out doing some much needed pruning in the garden.

If there was a thread that asked what shirt are you waiting for I would post this there, but I doubt if ever a thread would get much use. Tina has just ordered three and a half yards of this rather unusual material, it's called; "Beach Shacks."

The MG is being serviced at present, getting spares can be a problem, luckily it's only the brake shoes that are being replaced, quite an easy component to find. Today I have MG withdrawal symptoms, hence the MG shirt. Did any MG's cars make it to the Leeward Islands?

Red, I forgot to reply to you in the 'Sovereign' thread. The felt & quality really are first class. no more than I expected from such a fine company.
Tina has been busy again, this is part of a certain 'look.' This is what the rest of the look will be like. By the way, the felt will be replaced by a new straw from Esther.

This thread has been inspiring. Never been really one to wear Hawaiian type shirts but I ended up picking up 5 or 6 shirts this weekend for an upcoming cruise for my 15th wedding anniversary in Nov. Now once I acquire some hats that are worthy enough for pics that will compliment these I may actually post up some pics!

Congratulations on your 15th wedding anniversary. You don't have to wait for the hats, there's a thread called Hawaiian shirts Aloha shirts. There's some really good and colourful shirts on there. But if you want to put your shirts up on here, please do so, you're more than welcome.

On one of many trips to the US, we discovered an out of town discount store. There wasn't much that caught my eye but I did like the Route 66 shirt. The problem was, the only sizes that they had left were XXXL, it looked like a maternity gown on me. Back home, at some festival or other, my lady came up to me with that look of triumph. Ever since the disappointment of the Route 66 shirt in America, she had been keeping an eye out for something similar. In her hand was three and a half yards of Route 66 fabric. The result was brilliant. I get asked so often: "Where did you get your shirt?" And a disappointed look when I explain that my wife made it. I love it when something is unique.

A Route 66 shirt is classic. I wish my wife was so talented. Well actually she is, the time needed is the factor.
