Dale that shirt is so Aloha, you should wear it more often. The hat I love too, both the colour and the weave of the straw, it compliments the shirt a treat.

Fed, the woodies on your shirt has got to have some significance re spending your hard earned cash on the missus' car. Subtle or what?
What style do you call your shoes? They are known as saddle shoes in this side of the pond.

We've just got back from an exhausting vintage event, ten hours on our feet. But good fun though. My quandary of what to wear was resolved by the warm weather. My trousers and shirt are both made by Tina, as is Tina's dress and bolero.

You two always look Great! What a selection of fine accessories!

Saddle shoes is, I suppose, the more correct term. I just get lazy and call them all spec's... I spent too much money on tires yesterday and not enough on hats! I'll have to correct that imbalance in the universe!

The wider brim that Esther designed this hat with, just grows and grows on me. It was made for strong sunlight.

You're still the uncontested king of the stingy brims! Goes great with the Hawaiian! Nice casual combo.

Thanks guys!

Sorry to hear about the tires, Fed. Had to buy some myself recently. Ouch.

For ages my missus hunted round for some fabric depicting steam trains, she knows how much I enjoy a nostalgic journey on a steam hauled train. But the only trains she could find are of American origin. No matter, since she has made the shirt I have spent more than a few happy hours researching the locomotives that opened up the US, it also reminds me of the heritage train journey that we made when we visited Chattanooga. We also visited the Tennessee Valley Rail Road Museum. What an amazing weekend that was.
Later on, just wandering around Chattanooga, we went into an ice cream parlour. The lady serving, on hearing our accents, asked if the queen's head was depicted on our currency. As luck would have it, I had every coin of the realm in my loose change and gladly gave them to her as a souvenir. She was thrilled. She was also surprised and quite fascinated, looking at the paper money in my wallet. The five pounds, ten pounds and twenty pounds are different in colour and dimensions, they also have their own unique geometric symbol, as in a square, diamond and oblong. I explained that it was for the benefit of those whose vision was impaired. You can actually feel the symbol. She thought that this an excellent idea, but agreed that the greenback had been in circulation far too long to change it. Altogether it was a most memorable weekend. And we rode a steam hauled Chattanooga Choo Choo. I may have told this tale before, (old people do that, sorry.)

Not a fedora, nor an Hawaiian shirt, such heresy. We don't have our bike anymore, but we still get to see others once a month. They gather for breakfast at a truck stop, first Sunday of the month. I could have sold this shirt a dozen times over. The other shirt shown is one that I bought in Miami centuries ago, it too is well received at the truck stop. More a bowling shirt than a tropical one.

And for those of you who like two wheeled transport, feast your eyes on this beauty.

This thread was started by handlebar bart, I wonder if he's into bikes with a forum name like that?

Like the shirt above, this one too, is based on travel. It's a great pattern but what I like most is the use of variations of brown. A colour that normally has a bad press. Not for me, it's why I asked Esther to create a straw in this particular hue. Browns and yellows blend well, but they have to be interesting to prevent them from being gaudy.

This is definitely not Hawaiian, but indulge me, I know that some of you love old MG cars. My Godson and his wife are visiting us today, we are going to take them, in the old MG, to a classic car show. I just have to wear the shirt.
In the first picture you see a work in progress, the second shows the detail around the breast pocket, the third shows the buttons that took as long to make as the shirt. Finally the finished shirt, and just for good measure, the shoes and hat.
