It is actually very pliable and "soft" compare to my russet brown(15oz cotton duck lining) test.

Beautiful jacket! That's a stunning piece of work. Fit appears to be spot on. Wear it well.

I have a Buco Rider on order, I hope it looks and fits as well as yours.

Stu makes a mean ass jacket. The quality is literally second to none. Man I have a pj-27 in my wishlist. Was hoping he'd pop off a summer sale in July but no dice. Can we all just agree to abstain for a bit so this brother can get an order in?:)
Really well done @Hammerklavier, rekindled my desire to get back in a LW for sure. As @ProteinNerd said you've got the break in cut out for you but what a jacket to do it in!

Like a wild bronco, you're gonna have a good ride breakin' that beast in! Looking forward to more pics of it as you wear it and enjoy it. Great buy!

Thanks.
I think my HH jacket journey is pretty much done. I have suburban and us authentic a2 for fall and Spring, j23 and test for harsh winter. I'd like to wear them as much as possible, as they deserved.

I've seen a lot of pictures jackets on the forum I have to say whenever LW is posted, the construction and finish is always impeccable just by the eye test, it's really up there with the Japanese brands. If they offered lighter hide I would be all over that given the price.

They do offer a lighter hide now, they have 3 oz horsehide.

I'm not sure who is many enough, but I think I'm gonna have a hard time breaking mine before they bury me. Esp given the weather here in SoCal. But sadly I can't give to my kid as he's a few sizes smaller and the girls aren't showing much interest ;)
Everyone else does lighter hides, so really, there's no reason for Stu to do them too. Plus, it makes inventory that much simpler.
NO doubt, when the apocalypse comes, I'm putting that one on.

He really doesn't care for those who likes "delicate, beautiful" veg tanned, light weight leather, he call it "fashion jacket" and I coudn't agree more. He only sell his jacket for people who appreciate his jacket, that's it.

It's just a different animal all together. Once you crest the 3oz mark...that said, as much as I love my heavy ass jackets, tonight I put on my vintage Bates and it felt like a dream. There's a time and place for the myriad of weights, that's for sure. Wouldn't call veg tanned jackets fashion only tho (whatever that is). As much as I prefer the dreadnaughts (LOL). Those lighter hides are good too.

I feel like our perception of leather is really skewed now. Most of the "light weight" "fashion" leather like shinki and Vincenza would be too heavy for every day joes.

When I think of fashion leather I think about soft lambskin jackets at the gap or something

I have a J100 in 3 oz from Stu. Best hide I have ever handled. Thinner but still tough as nails with a great hand and grain developing after 1 season- very unexpected after several LW jackets in 3.5-4 oz plus.
