@Michael A , Check out the movie Gold with Matthew McConaughey on Netflix. His partner, Acosta, has a hat that looks like it has a similar weave and texture to your Hopoka straw.
Thanks for the heads up Doug. I'll have to put it on my watch list.

New hat day. Picked up a new Stetson Stratoliner Milan in hemp. Special Edition version, better sweat (sheep skin?) and a more substantial milan weave. There is a different feel between the regular milan and this one, seems more hefty. Definitely a late summer/early spring weight straw. So far I'm liking it. Needs some steam and a snap though.

Nice looking hat Red. Great color and I like the shape as is. It does look like a heavy straw, almost like my palm straws.

I too fit that description. I really need to start writing my thesis this year. Good on you, and with a great hat to boot.
