Buco J type jacket hardware

Hello friends,

I am debating in my next options for my lw j23 jacket. I am getting the brown color horsehide. However, I do not know which is the correct hardware.

I have both conmar and talon zippers. I also them in both in brown and black cotton fabric. I, however, do not have them in the brass. I was wondering, I can buy some in white cotton in brass metal and dye them? Has any one done that?

If you have some zippers laying around for this project jacket, I can buy from you. I am also looking for the cool half round top end zipper stops.
Finally, I am going with an original zipper of that era. Not those big number ten type.

Please let me know if any one can point me in the right direction.

Mash Japan sell fabric pens to change the colour of the tape on the Talons and Conmars they sell so it must work. I'd bepretty confident that a black fabric pen would stain any colour tape black.

Thanks for your respond. I have used their product. They are ok. I was thinking of a more professional job than that. I am planing to do 16 zippers. I believe the original color of the tape was brown not black. For this reason, I am planing to do the whole lot for two jackets or maybe a little more if it works out well.
